How to use the evidence

Record newspaper or periodical title, issue date, page, author when known, and the repository. A newspaper report is evidence of what was reported; its individual claims may require corroboration.

The Narragansett Dawn — January 1936 (Vol. 1, No. 9)

The January issue includes medicine-man reminiscences, an ancestor of Owen W. H. Leonard, letters of Eleazar Wheelock, and a 1801 petition to the General Assembly. Indian Day, a children’s club, fireside stories and the ninth language lesson also appear. This issue contains 13 PDF pages.

Catalog citation: The Narragansett Dawn, vol. 1, no. 9, January 1936.

Source information and access

Catalog summaries describe the materials and their research context. Consult each member record for its full citation, available scans, and any transcription or curator notes. If a creator, date, or repository is unidentified, treat that information as unresolved rather than inferred.
